Prime Minister Hamza Attends Handover Ceremony of New Somali Police Chie

Mogadishu, Wednesday, October 2, 2024: The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre, attended a handover ceremony where the new Chief of the Somali Police Force, Major General Asad Osman Abdullahi, took over from the outgoing Chief, Major General Sulub Ahmed Firin.

Prime Minister Hamza expressed his gratitude to the outgoing Chief for his dedicated efforts and effective leadership during his tenure. He urged the new Police Chief to continue advancing the critical work of the police force, focusing on improving national security and public safety.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the Somali Police Force is a cornerstone of the state, tasked with upholding its duties diligently to maintain and strengthen public confidence in law enforcement.
