President Hassan Sheikh Welcomes U.S. Intelligence Chief in Mogadishu

The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, along with the Director of the Somali National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA), Mr. Abdullahi Mohamed Ali (Sanbaloolshe), hosted a meeting in Mogadishu with the Director of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), Mr. William J. Burns.

The discussion focused on the strategic cooperation between Somalia and the United States, support for the Federal Government of Somalia in combating terrorism, the planned withdrawal of the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) forces, and the stability of the Horn of Africa.

Both Somalia and the U.S. emphasized the importance of their partnership in peace and security efforts, reaffirming their commitment to continued collaboration to ensure stability in the Horn of Africa region.
