The FBI has concluded a year-long advanced training program on criminal law, forensic investigation, and terrorism-related cases for officers from the Somali Police Force and the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA).

The program equipped participants with modern criminal-investigation techniques, including crime-scene examination, evidence collection and preservation, and methods for verifying critical information.

The Federal Government of Somalia conducted the program with support from the United States government and international specialists in criminal investigations and forensic science.

The closing ceremony was attended by the U.S. Chargé d’Affaires in Somalia, the Commissioner of the Somali Police Force, the Director of NISA, and the Chairman of the Armed Forces Court.

Officials emphasized the importance of building highly skilled security and judicial institutions capable of handling crime-scene evidence professionally, lawfully, and in a manner that supports credible investigations and judicial proceedings.

The graduating officers are now prepared to examine crime scenes using professional and scientific methods, properly collect and preserve evidence, and contribute to reliable criminal and counterterrorism investigations.
