The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, held an honorary dinner with the leaders and members of both houses of the Somali Parliament, formally requesting a special session to address Parliament.

The event was attended by Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre, his deputies, and Presidents of regional states, including Galmudug’s Ahmed Abdi Karie, South West’s Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed, and Hirshabelle’s Ali Abdullahi Hussein.

During the gathering, President Hassan Sheikh expressed appreciation for the regional leaders’ participation in the National Consultative Council, which is focused on Somalia’s future, including securing territories from extremist control, strengthening security, rebuilding the armed forces, and fulfilling the democratic aspirations of Somali citizens.

We are engaging with all, despite differing views. If they invite us, we’ll go; otherwise, they’ll come to us. I want unity and solidarity. Our people have a great opportunity to achieve their hopes, and together, we’re working to secure the country, reclaim territories, and meet the expectations of our people,”
