This act has raised serious concerns regarding Ethiopia’s adherence to international law and its commitment to regional stability. This incident follows previous illegal arms shipments that were also transported through Ethiopia to cities within the Galmudug State of Somalia, as well as other shipments of weapons and ammunition delivered by aircraft to the city of Baidoa in the South West State of Somalia. These recurring actions demonstrate Ethiopia’s continued disregard for Somalia’s sovereignty.

Somalia demands that Ethiopia immediately cease these illegal actions, which pose a significant threat to peace and stability in the Horn of Africa. We call upon regional and international partners to condemn this violation and to support Somalia’s efforts to preserve peace and stability in the region. Somalia remains steadfast in its diplomatic commitment to peaceful cooperation, based on respect for international laws and the sovereignty of all nations.
