Somalia Plans Closure of UNSOM Office in Mogadishu Amid Growing Self-Sufficiency
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Somalia has announced that technical teams from the Federal Government and the United Nations have commenced discussions in Mogadishu regarding the closure of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM) office. The discussions, which mark the first meeting between the two parties on this matter, aim to outline a strategic plan for the orderly completion of UNSOM’s operations in Mogadishu.
