Somalia’s Weekly Government Briefing Highlights Key Developments in Security, Agriculture, and Diplomacy
The Federal Government of Somalia has released its weekly briefing, emphasizing a range of strategic initiatives and developments within the country.
Security and Anti-Terrorism Efforts
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud led an emergency meeting focused on managing the control of weapons entering Somalia. He also presided over the National Committee for Combating Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing in Mogadishu. These steps aim to strengthen Somalia’s security infrastructure and combat terrorism.
The Somali National Army, supported by international allies, eliminated over 50 militants from the Kharijites militia in the Galgaduud region. The local forces in Ceeldheer District captured a leader of the Al-Shabaab terrorist group. Furthermore, the Somali National Army successfully thwarted land mines planted by terrorists on a critical road in Galgaduud.

16- The Somali National Army, which is conducting military operations against the Kharijites Al Shabab in the east of Galgaduud region, succeeded in thwarting land mines planted by the terrorists on the road connecting Mesagaway and Barag Sheikh Aamir areas.
