Somali FM Discusses Collaborative Efforts with UN Representative
Mogadishu, July 18, 2024 – The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Amb. Ahmed Moallim Fiqi Ahmed , received on Wednesday in his office at the Ministry in the capital, Mogadishu, the Acting Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Somalia and Head of the UN Assistance Mission for Somalia (UNSOM), Mr. James Swan, and discussed with him the collaborative efforts and progress made during the sessions of the technical committee from both parties aimed at establishing a country office for the United Nations in Somalia.
During the meeting, the minister and the UN representative focused on strengthening the cooperation between Somalia and the United Nations, emphasizing the importance of establishing the new UN office in improving coordination and addressing Somalia’s challenges, contributing to efforts that promote sustainable growth and development
