President Hassan, Al-Shabaab has ordered its members to register for the national ID.

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, while closing the second day of the Second National Identity Conference, revealed that security agencies have informed him that Al-Shabaab has instructed its members to obtain the new National ID NIRA.

He explained that the biometric registration process, which includes facial recognition and fingerprinting, will allow authorities to identify individuals accurately.

This method is seen as an effective way to weaken and expose terrorist networks.The President reassured that this is not a major concern. Registering for the ID is a national responsibility and strengthens overall security.

The government continues to stress that the National ID system is crucial for securing the nation, improving governance, and ensuring accountability for all citizens.
